Where Are They Now? : Our 1/2 Bath

So, you know how talk show hosts will sometimes follow up with their guests to see where they are now since they were on the show? Well, consider this the start of a miniseries inside of the series that is already going on where we will revisit some of the rooms in our house to see where they are now, as well as peak into some never-before-seen nooks and crannies.

First up in the Where Are They Now? tour is our downstairs 1/2 bath that we renovated here, here, here, and here.

Last you saw in May 2012, this is what it was looking like. It hasn't changed terribly much since then, but I'm always tweaking things and I feel like more times than not I don't share it on the blog. So consider this the start of my oversharing.

The main difference in here now is that we changed out the start art we made and replaced it with a painting that my sister-in-law and her family gave us as a wedding gift. The artist is one of her good friends, Lulie Wallace,  and I have begun to see her work in magazines and also pinned by one of my most favorite (renowned) interior designers on Pinterest--how cool is that!

We also cleared off the little tray and succulents from the top of the toilet--it seemed like the tray was competing with the painting so away it went. It now holds our mail on the kitchen counter.

Our little nest with soaps on the sink still makes the cut, although you never know when it may get moved. Looking at these pictures, I'm not loving the greenery in the vase combined with the nest--too much greenery in one small spot, so something is getting moved! Our camelias our blooming right now, so I'm thinking we'll bring those in to replace the spruce clippings in that little vase.

Normally there are still those white, monogrammed hand towels hanging on the towel rack that were in the picture from back in May, but they were in the wash when these pictures were taken--oops. If only people knew that decorative hand towels aren't actually meant to be used...at least not in my house!

So there you have it--this is where our half bath is now. Not too many changes, since we pretty much gutted and redid every little thing in here last year, but a few nonetheless. Accessories are much easier and cheaper to change than flooring, walls, and fixures, trust me!
